ian sent me this photo of the view from their room at the prince hotel in hiroshima. i believe the island is miyajima, with mt. misen. it looks great! i want to go....

Nice View. You should go. I think the shinkansen and hotel package is a good deal. And taking the shinkansen is better than flying cuz you can see the scenery along the way. There's a lot to see there, it's a worthwhile trip. Even without monkeys. I think the good thing about staying in this hotel is that its really convenient to hop on the ferry to Miyajima, which I think is one of the main attractions.
