Happy Birthday to Papa (Masahisa)

From top to bottom: Masahisa at age 19 in front of his home in Tokyo (Jan, 1936); as a young man in his 20s; with his grandfather, Junichiro Takigawa; and as a little boy with his tricycle. He would have been 87 today. Happy Birthday, Papa!

these photos are so great. great-great grandfather was a published author, it turns out. we found some of his books in the great cleaning-out this weekend. he's the one with the wicked cool beard.

No, the background is the countryside of Matsue.
By the way, Blaine, we are tentatively scheduled to have my father's one year memorial service in Matsue. It will probably be in early Spring, 2006.
